After School Programs
The BEARS program provides academic support and enrichment/recreation activities both before and after school plus over many holidays. It offers a sliding scale with subsidies for low income families. Many of the enrichment programs are run in conjunction with Kids Club.

Berkeley LEARNS programs provide academic support, cultural enrichment and recreation from the time the traditional school day ends until 6:00pm during the academic year. All BUSD students are eligible to participate in the Berkeley LEARNS After School Program. You must sign up through the school district for LEARNS.
The Washington School Chess Club meets every Thursday in room 110 from 2:20 to 3:30. The club is open to all Washington students and is free of charge. Beginners are welcome. Please see Mr. Tubbs for a permission slip.
Beginner Wednesdays 1:30-2:30 and 2:30-3:30 on Fridays, $1,310 for the year.
Advanced Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30-3:30, $1,310 for the year.
Kinder Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30-2:30 pm, $1,310 for the year.
The tuition includes a monthly music workshop, as well as snacks, supplies, learning materials and 3 cross-cultural workshops during the school year (sculpture, cooking and yoga, all in Spanish!)

Math Club takes place on-site, on Fridays, 2:30-3:30pm. The cost of Math Club is $760 for the entire year.
