The PTA has set up Google Groups email lists for parent/guardian communications. This means you can go to one location, https://groups.google.com, to see all your classroom and PTA communications in one place. Permission to join any Washington Google Group is moderated and cross-referenced with current enrollment lists. Email email@example.com with your child’s name and classroom teacher to be added to the appropriate group.
By default, the Groups messages will arrive as emails; your email does not need to be a Google Account. If you don’t already have one, you may link any email account to a free Google Account. First create your Google Account; then, for how to link your alternate email, please visit Alternate usernames in Accounts Help.
You also have the choice of reading Groups messages on the web rather than receiving them as individual emails. For how to set your reading preferences, please visit My membership settings in Groups Help.

For important classroom-related communication affecting your students. The room parents and teachers manage these groups, but any member may email the entire group. If you have more than one child at Washington you will belong to more than one classroom group.
This is the PTA’s tool to share information about school-related issues. If you are a returning parent and were a part of LivingTree last school year, you will automatically be added to this group. This is a “one-to-many” distribution list, and is only set up for outgoing information.
Washington Community Forum
A moderated, opt-in discussion forum where parents can ask and answer each others questions, make comments and share articles. This is also the place where you can advertise your local business or yard sale! To join, email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The email address used for the Washington Wire and classroom-level GoogleGroups is the one you provided for the directory. If you need to change this, please email our Communications Committee at email@example.com.
The PTA sends out a school-wide email on Sunday afternoons called called Washington Week. It outlines what is going on at school in the coming week and in the near future. Once Washington Week has gone out via email, it goes onto our home page at https://www.washington.berkeleypta.org.
To submit information to Washington Week, please send it to the Communications Committee by each Wednesday at noon for publication on Sunday.

In 2018, Washington parent (and former Washington student!) Reuben Margolin created a magnificent redwood kiosk for the school. Flyers and information about current events at school circulate regularly.
