Equity Family Nights

Equity Family Nights are a quarterly Washington PTA tradition that brings families together for an evening of dinner, connection, and meaningful conversation. Centered around our Affinity Groups, these gatherings provide a welcoming space for families to build relationships, celebrate our diverse community, and share experiences in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Each Equity Family Night begins with a shared meal, followed by time for Affinity Groups to gather for discussion, community-building, and connection. These conversations help strengthen relationships among families with shared identities or experiences while fostering a greater sense of belonging throughout our school community.

Equity Family Nights are open to all Washington families. Whether you're attending for the first time, reconnecting with your Affinity Group, or simply interested in learning more, you'll find a warm and welcoming community.

Why Equity Family Nights Matter

Washington is enriched by the many cultures, identities, languages, and lived experiences represented within our school community. Equity Family Nights provide an opportunity to:

  • Build meaningful relationships with other Washington families.

  • Celebrate the diversity that makes our school unique.

  • Create spaces where families can connect through shared identities and experiences.

  • Foster belonging and strengthen our inclusive school community.

  • Share ideas and support one another.

Affinity Groups

During each Equity Family Night, families have the opportunity to connect with one or more of our Affinity Groups:

  • Southwest Asian & North Africa (SWANA) Family Group

  • Asian & Pacific Islander Family Group

  • Black/African American Family Group

  • XSpecial Families (families with IEPs, 504 Plans, disabilities, neurodivergence, or other support needs)

  • Rainbow Families (LGBTQIA+ families and allies)

  • Multiracial Family Group

  • Latine/x Family Group

Families are welcome to participate in whichever group—or groups—feel meaningful to them.
